Holey Moley Sweater

Embrace texture with the Holey Moley Sweater — a statement knit that balances softness, structure, and a touch of drama. This design features all-over eyelet stitches, relaxed drop shoulders, a cropped length, voluminous sleeves, and exaggerated balloon cuffs.

The sweater is worked top down for a seamless finish, with short rows at the shoulders to create comfortable, flattering shaping. Construction begins flat from the shoulders to the underarms, then continues in the round for the body. The neckline and sleeves are picked up and worked in the round.

Fit & Yarn Details

We recommend a worsted weight / 10 ply yarn. This design works beautifully in wool or cotton — anything with good stitch definition so the eyelet texture can really shine.

Yarn required:

Needles:
• 6.5 mm (US 10.5) circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge), approx. 100 cm / 40" cable
• 5.5 mm (US 9) circular needle, approx. 100 cm / 40" cable

Note: Sleeves and neckline are worked using the magic loop method. You may also choose to use a shorter cable or DPNs if preferred.

Gauge:
16.5 stitches × 22 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4" in stockinette stitch
If you have more stitches than required, increase your needle size. If you have fewer stitches, decrease your needle size.
