Storm Slipover Junior - Petite Knit
Please note: this is a printed knitting pattern. It is not a digital download.
The Storm Sweater Junior is a textured sweater worked from the top down. The design features a structured stitch pattern made up of four repeating textured sections, creating interest while still being comfortable and practical for everyday wear.
The back yoke is worked first, flat and back and forth. Stitches are then picked up for each shoulder and worked separately before the shoulders are joined to form the front yoke. Once the front and back are joined, the body is worked straight down in the round.
The sleeves are knitted in the round from stitches picked up around the armholes, using double-pointed needles or the Magic Loop technique. The neckline is finished with a ribbed edge that is folded double and knitted down for a neat, durable finish.
Because the texture pattern affects both stitch and row gauge, it is important to knit and wash a swatch before starting the sweater to ensure the finished garment matches the intended measurements.
Size Guide
The Storm Sweater Junior is designed with approximately 20–25 cm of positive ease for a relaxed, comfortable fit.
Choose the size based on the child’s chest measurement rather than age alone. If the measurement falls between sizes, select the size that provides the amount of ease you prefer.
