Plait Sleeve Sweater
The Purl Foundry Plait Sleeve sweater has an oversized fit, turtleneck and balloon sleeves with a gorgeous loose cable design — it's a real showstopper! Created using a top-down, seamless technique, it's easy to finish with no seaming required.
Why You'll Love It:
- Crafted from two strands of delicate lace-weight mohair yarn for a soft, airy feel
- Perfect for intermediate level knitters looking for a new challenge
- Inspired by the Suzie Meyers contiguous method — similar to a top-down raglan but with more frequent shoulder increases
- Sleeves and neckline are both picked up and knit in the round for a seam-free finish
- This is a printed pattern that will be posted to you
- Stocked and shipped from Rangiora
Fit & Yarn Details
Choose two strands of 2ply mohair / mohair blend yarn held together or one strand of 10 ply mohair / mohair blend. If you choose 10 ply yarn, then use half the recommended yarn quantity. We reckon Sesia Oliver or Lana Grossa Setasuri would be absolutely perfect for this!
Model wears approx 30 cm / 12" positive ease. Designed to be worn with 10-30 cm / 4-12" ease depending on your personal preference. Sizes read as A (B, C, D) (E, F, G, H).
Finished bust measurements: cm = 95.5 (106.5, 118, 126.5) (138, 149, 160, 169) / inches = 38.25 (42.75, 47, 50.75) (55, 59.5, 64, 67.5)"
Yarn Quantity: metres = 1740 (1900, 2040, 2240) (2165, 2400, 2755, 2940) / yards = 1904 (2072, 2231, 2444) (2367, 2624, 3013, 3214).
Needles: 3.75mm / US 5 circular needle for ribbing and 5 mm / US 8 circular needle, or size to obtain gauge. Both use a 80 cm / 32" cord. NOTE: The sleeves are worked in the round using the magic loop method, but you could just opt to use a shorter cord with your circulars or use DPNs.
